The Kenosha Ultralight Club is an aviation/engineering club located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The mission of this club is to provide the surrounding community with a program that allows members to interact with the wonders of flight.
What is an Ultralight?- An Ultralight is defined by the FAA as an aircraft that weighs less than 254lb, stores less than 5 gallons of gasoline, and is capable of carrying one passager. If a craft meets these requirements, neither flight certification nor registration is required.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” Leonardo Da Vinci
Kenosha Ultralight Club members connect with aviation in a unique way. Members will learn about the mechanics and engineering of flight by building an ultralight. Once the ultralight is completed, members will have the opportunity to take flight with full confidence in their craftsmanship. Those interested in flying will have to participate in intensive simulations in order to ensure a safe flight.
Oshkosh AirVenture- AirVenture is the world’s largest airshow. In order to bring those in the club closer to the world of aviation, members will travel to Oshkosh to display their completed ultralight along with a list of donors. This will allow members to make new connections within the aviation community while having the opportunity to display their accomplishments.
To raise aviation interest within the local community, the Kenosha Ultralight Club will host events displaying the club’s completed ultralight, along with music, flights, and food.
Due to the delicate nature of building an aircraft, membership to the Kenosha Ultralight Club is application only. This is to ensure the safety of all members planning to fly. To apply, fill out the contact form in the contact us tab. Membership is free thanks to our donors and sponsors.
